Your website is your business’ digital home. And unfortunately, most dance studio websites miss the mark. If you want your studio to stand out as one of the top-tier options in your community, your website needs to reflect that.
On top of first impressions, the functionality of your website is critical for all other marketing avenues. If you’re spending money on social media, ads, or email campaigns but your website isn’t easy to navigate, then you’re wasting your marketing budget. All those efforts drive traffic to your site… but if that traffic lands on a clunky, confusing, or outdated website, they’re not going to register.
Your website should make people excited to sign up the moment they land on it. Here are two simple but game-changing tips that will elevate your website and help turn clicks into clients:
Tip #1: Include Your City Name… Everywhere!
One of the biggest SEO mistakes we see on studio websites is not clearly stating where you’re located. You should have your city name:
- In your homepage headline (before the user scrolls)
- Sprinkled throughout your site copy
- In your page titles and meta descriptions
If you’re located in a large metropolitan area, include your neighborhood, general area, and surrounding areas!
Why? Because when parents search for a studio, they’re typing things like:
“Dance classes in [Your City Name]”
“Ballet studio near me [Your City Name]”
If your website doesn’t clearly include your location, Google (and potential clients) won’t know if you’re a match. Don’t just include your city once in small print at the bottom, make it front and center!
Tip #2: Your Class Schedule Should Be Easy To Find
We can’t stress this enough: parents want to see WHEN classes are held. That’s often the deciding factor on whether they’ll register.
Your full class schedule should be:
- Easy to locate from the homepage (ideally within 1 click)
- Visible directly on the site (not a downloadable PDF!)
- Divided clearly by age group
- Simple to understand (keep class names straightforward)
- Fully mobile-friendly
Even better? Use an embedded class schedule from your studio software so it auto-updates when you make changes on the back end. This also lets you include “Register” buttons right next to each class, which improves conversion!
